Using AI-powered materials discovery to accelerate the development of organic electronic and photoactive materials, replacing months of laboratory trial-and-error with digital screening.
Atomiver — Czech Republic
Developing scalable graphene derivatives for applications including energy storage, with its nitrogen-doped material enabling smaller, higher-energy supercapacitors.
Bioprex Medical— Netherlands
Developing a permanent, antibiotic-free antimicrobial coating for medical implants that prevents infections through contact-killing technology without contributing to antimicrobial resistance.
Exomatter — Germany
ExoMatter provides an AI-powered materials R&D platform and co-development projects to rapidly identify and validate novel materials for energy and industrial use cases.
Fairbrics — France
Converting captured CO₂ into low-carbon polyester and battery-grade solvents using proprietary catalysts and membrane-less electrolyzers to electrify chemical production.
Korymbos Photonics — Czech Republic
Developing THz-based wafer metrology tools that measure critical semiconductor parameters non-destructively, faster and more accurately than existing methods.
Movolta — Germany
Developing solar retrofit systems for refrigerated trailers to reduce diesel consumption, CO₂ emissions and operating costs.
OLEC Technology —Latvia
Developing advanced organic materials for photonics, including AUSMATTER, a smart optical material that responds to high-intensity laser light by reducing transmitted energy — without electronics, external power or mechanical components.
qCella — Switzerland
Developing paper-thin heating mats made from copper-cellulose hybrid fibres, enabling smarter cabin heating for electric vehicles by warming people directly rather than the air and helping preserve driving range in winter.
Sine Nanotech — USA
Developing proprietary silicon anodes enabled by nanotechnology and 3D structuring to deliver the next leap in lithium-ion battery performance for eVTOL, drones, consumer electronics and EVs.
Smart Resilin — Israel
Developing a next-generation platform of sustainable elastic materials based on recombinant Resilin for advanced industrial applications.
Symmetry Wood — USA
Developing Pyrus™, a patented bio-based material made from food waste that offers an alternative to endangered hardwoods and other harmful materials, with performance comparable to ebony and marble.
The next stop: Berlin
Over the coming weeks, the founders will work with experts, investors and industry partners to sharpen their technologies, business models and routes to market.
The programme culminates in the AdMaCom Demo Day on 15 October at CIC Berlin, where the finalists will present their companies to investors, corporates and the wider deep-tech ecosystem.
