(Berlin, 1/06/2023) INAM – the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials is pleased to announce the successful culmination of the 9th edition of the AdMaCom program, that was geared specifically to early stage startups. Since it's inception in 2017, AdMaCom has become the leading accelerator program for startups in Materials Science and adjacent technologies. The AdMaCom program, which began on 5 May 2023 and ran for 3 weeks, provided startups with the tools and resources they needed to set up their businesses for future success.
AdMaCom focused on startups that had already developed a functional prototype and were ready to take their businesses to the next level. Over the course of the program, participating startups had access to a wide range of support services, including business workshops mentorship, networking opportunities, and insights into the world of investment.
INAM is proud to announce the Overall Winner of AdMaCom 2023: Applied Bioplastics from Austin, USA! Their cost-effective sustainable plastic replacement material, already in use at various refugee camps all over the world, is set to disrupt a number of industries. We wish them the very best of luck for the future!
A major component of the AdMaCom program is our specialised 1-on-1 mentoring with industry experts. The mentors rate the startups after their sessions and the startup with the highest ratings is crowned as Mentor's Choice. This year the award went to Smart Materials, from Malta, who are developing an innovative 1-step process for polyurethane foam production.
The third award to be won at Demo Day was our Crowd Favourite Award which is determined by voting from the audience present at the event. This year, Biowerkz from Karlsruhe, who are developing a natural binder for wood to be used in furniture and construction, won the award.
The AdMaCom Scale program culminated in a Demo Day on 25 May 2023, held at Technical University Berlin's EINS Innovation Platform, where startups had the opportunity to showcase their progress to potential investors and industry partners. This event marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by the startups, as well as the AdMaCom team.
"We are thrilled with the success of the AdMaCom Scale program," said Oliver Hasse, Managing Director at INAM. "The introduction of the new version of AdMaCom was well-received by the participating startups who showed incredible dedication and hard work in these past weeks. We are proud to have played a role in helping them achieve their goals and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them."
With the addition of the AdMaCom Scale program to the INAM portfolio, INAM now provides specialized support for all stages of startup growth, from pre-founding/founding with the AdMaLab incubator, Pre-seed and Seed with AdMaCom to Series A and beyond with AdMaCom Scale.
