About Smart Materials Ltd
Smart Materials creates an auxetic polyurethane foam. Auxetic materials are a class of mechanical metamaterials which get fatter when stretched and narrower when compressed. Apart from being just a mind-boggling feature, it brings about a whole world of new possibilities and applications. Auxetics have been around for a while and their superior properties have been shown multiple times in literature. The bottle neck has always been the production method, which did not scale. Smart Materials has changed this and can finally bring auxetic foam to the mass market!
INAM, the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials, is a global network of companies and research institutes in the field of Advanced Materials. INAM’s goal is to enable the right connections and make technological innovations become reality by working closely with startups, SMEs, corporations, investors, and research institutes to start, grow and transform the development of Advanced Materials.
