A spin out of Modena and Reggio Emilia University and Parma University, MAT3D designs and manufactures new advanced materials for 3D printing (additive manufacturing technology-AM) in different industrial sectors from prototypes to mould & tools to end-use parts.
MAT3D's mission is to broaden the scope of materials used for 3d printing in a changing world. They aim to design and produce new polymeric advanced materials for additive manufacturing with high performances in terms of thermo-mechanical resistance and with advanced functional properties to be used for industrial applications and production of functional quality goods in multiple industries.
The materials for 3d printing currently available on the market are mainly standard polymeric materials suitable for prototyping. Currently, MAT3D is developing new materials with high performances to allow industrial adoption of 3D printing.
At the moment, the team is hard at work developing new advanced resins that have improved thermal-mechanical and functional properties. Additionally, they are developing resins that:
can be suitable metal replacements
have electrical properties
have magnetic properties
have antibacterial properties
Recently, MAT3D have joined INAM as a startup member and are ready to start collaborations.
