#FounderFriday – FILI PARI | The Lightness of Marble

Fili Pari is the innovative women-led startup focused on research and development of unconventional materials for the textile industry, respecting the territory and the environment. The Start Up specializes in the development of cutting-edge technologies for the enhancement of marble powders.

Since ancient times marble has been used in art, architecture, and represents a cultural, economic, and geological heritage, symbol of uniqueness and timeless excellence. In the form of powder is used also in the fields of chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food, thanks to the calcium carbonate contained in the stone.

In the textile sector, marble has never been used. It has been used as an aesthetic inspiration through prints that reproduce the veins of the stone. But now marble is wearable thank to Fili Pari and MARM \ MORE.

MARM \ MORE is an innovative material made with marble powder that combines technical performance and aesthetic characteristics. Waterproof, breathable and windproof, MARM \ MORE is a coating that is placed on fabric. However, unlike marble in its stone form, MARM \ MORE is soft to the touch and provides the fabric with beautiful natural colors and high abrasion resistance.

Fili Pari embraces the circular economy values, combining research and innovation to improve the well-being of the Earth and its people by updating the product life cycle.

They not only use but also encourage the use of by-products as a raw material.

All of their garments are made using products and by-products of the Italian stone industries, transforming waste into opportunities in full respect of circular economy.

INAM met Founders Alice Zantedeschi and Francesca Pievani when they took part as one of the finalists in the Advanced Fabrics Open Innovation Challenge and later when they participated in INAM's AdMaCamp program.
