Advanced Materials Competition 2022 Finalist: PCNanomaterials

Updated: Nov 8, 2023

Date: 05 May, 2022

INAM, the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials announces PCNanomaterials as an ADMACOM 2022 finalist. Alongside 10 other startups, PCNanomaterials, joins the 8th edition of the Advanced Materials accelerator program, ADMACOM.

PCNanomaterials produces innovative, high-performance photocatalytic materials. These materials can be incorporated in innovative paints and/or coatings to degrade pathogenic airborne species and locally reduce indoor and outdoor pollutants into harmless by-products. Some important applications are paints, glass, fabrics, metals, and air conditioning systems.

What’s new and innovative:

Titanium dioxide is well known for its photocatalytic properties but all state-of the-art competitive materials are active mainly under harmful UV irradiation and produce non-negligible amounts of harmful by-products. PCN Materials has modified titanium dioxide in such a way that photocatalysis can occur with visible (direct/diffused/day/night) lighting.
