MARKETING MANAGER

INAM Description

 

INAM, the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials, is a network of companies in Advanced Materials. We are a non-profit and our goal is to enable the right connections and make technological innovations become reality by working closely with startups, SMEs, corporations and research institutes to start, grow and transform the development of Advanced Materials. We have over 70 members now, from early stage startups all the way to corporates like Sony, Bosch, Infineon etc. We work closely with startups in Advanced Materials (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Electronics etc.) to support their growth and organise our own Accelerator Program - AdMaCom. 

 

We are a small but quite international team and our office is in Berlin (Mitte) (we also work remotely).

 

Role Summary

 

We are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to complete our small team at INAM. Working closely with the other two team members (Project Manager and Managing Director), your mission will be to lead all Marketing, PR, Website content & Podcast plans and to help grow the INAM brand internationally. We want to be known as the hub for companies with a focus on Advanced Materials and this is where your role will be essential. 

 

Twice a year, we organise AdMaCom - the Advanced Materials Competition, a 2-week program for startups. You will meet startups from all over the world working on Key Enabling Technologies for a wide range of science applications. We support them during and after the program - this is one of the very exciting parts of our work at INAM.

 

You don’t need to have a technical background, but you should be interested in science & technology, as this role requires keeping up to date with developments in our field and spreading the word about innovative technologies in Materials. 

 

Finally, we have a podcast (Start Up the Science), so if podcasting is something you have done before or are interested in learning about, this will be an excellent opportunity. 


 

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

 

  • Social Media 

    • Creating content, including text posts and images, for use on social media

    • Promoting INAM and its network over social media

    • Scheduling social media posts using applications such as Hootsuite or Buffer

    • Developing new social media strategies

 

  • PR

    • Planning, writing and publishing press releases for INAM and its network

 

  • Website

    • Create website content including landing pages, images, text, news posts and press posts

    • Plan, implement, manage, and monitor INAM’s website

    • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues

    • Knowledge of wix not necessary but preferred

 

  • Newsletters & Reports

    • Plan, organize, edit and write content for different audiences on different platforms

    • Knowledge of Mailchimp preferred

 

  • Events

    • Promoting INAM events internally and externally

    • Creating appropriate content for each event (banners, flyers, one pagers, etc.)

    • Working together with the INAM Team in Event Planning and Management

    • Creating post-event summaries and booklets 

 

  • Podcast

    • Planning and scheduling guests for podcast 

    • Creating content, text and images for each episode

    • Experience in Post Production (editing and mixing) preferred but not required
       

 

Requirements & Capabilities:
 

  • Excellent communicator 

  • Team player (our team has 3 people and we work very closely together)

  • Self driven, able to work independently on own initiatives

  • Creative, with a passion for design

  • Ability to work with different stakeholders, from startups to corporates to university professors. 

  • Willing to go the extra mile, as the needs may arise (A startup / small team mindset)

  • Proficient in English (Working language is English & all Marketing materials are in English) 

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1 to 5 years experience in Marketing / PR / Event Management

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Proficiency in German is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience working with startups

  • A passion for science & technology
