The Advanced Materials Competition concluded with a Demo Day at the Microsoft Berlin Atrium.

At this day, the 10 international teams demonstrated the progress they have made while working in Berlin- showing off their presentation skills and the improved pitches of their business models. The pitched were judged by a jury consisting of representatives from Berlin Partner, Specs, Henkel, Humboldt University and Target Partners. Start-ups presentations were judged on criteria:

  • Strength of the business model

  • Innovation of the project

  • Competitive advantage

  • Team

  • Presentation skills

While the jury decided on who would be the lucky team receiving the main prize, the other attendees enjoyed lovely food and conversations with the start-up teams at their Demo tables. Everyone could vote for their favorite team therefore deciding who would earn the title of “Crowds Favorite”.

We were honored to have so many attendees and active supporters of innovation like Christian Rickerts (State Secretary of Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises) who took part in the Demo Day and demonstrated the ongoing support from the Berlin Senate.

The Advanced Material Competition winners were:

  • OrelTech - Main Prize €10,000

  • Innovo3D - Crowds Favorite €2,500

  • VSParticle - Mentor's Award €2,500

For the rest of the evening, we celebrated the ending of another year of successful AdMaCom and said goodbyes to the 10 teams who left back to their home countries to continue working on their projects with their newly established contacts and potential partnerships in Germany.
